I hope Messi leaves, or gives him grief if he stays.
With such huge debt and a need to rebuild, they may see selling someone who is thirty-four next year as a sensible option. But who'd pay the stupid price?

I think he'll stay there for ever because he and they will price him out of a move, and other clubs must see it wouldn't be worth it when you consider his age.

Two moody, stubborn and miserable people at the top of the pyramid vying for power of the dressing room won't end well.

The only ways Messi leaves is if some oddball club from the east with an obscenely wealthy backer makes a bid or an Italian club (needs a slowish yet wealthy league - maybe a French team potentially, Germany and England are out due to their pace) offers a substantial pay deal that is subsidised by Barcelona who could at least recoup some of their outgoings on what is a rapidly diminishing asset (or indeed an increasing liability).

He's essentially a world class version of the Siggurdson problem.

He's possibly the ideal manager for them. He wont take any messing, he's a club legend so will have fans onside to begin with, and he's actually a decent manager. Obviously his time didn't end well at Everton but that was a bad run of fixtures to start a season with, after a disjointed recruitment strategy from Walsh (and himself) that Summer.

He's perhaps not the hardest working coach out there, but I suspect that was as much cos we had to pay him a fortune just to consider us. At Barca he'll want to do well cos his heart will be in it. The club is obviously in a mess though, they'd probably do well to get rid of Messi and the other senior players who like to control everything and rebuild with Koeman was the leader instead of the players.

Hi Ron, how's it going?

lol I don't disagree, my dislike for Barca is greater than my dislike for Koeman.
