I think this is by design. They'll be no fans next season and decreased revenue from exibition matches and apparel/souveniors. The club wants Messi out. Because if it wasn't HTF did Koenman get this job? I mean he wasn't Mr. Fallback, he was their 1st choice. There's no "Barca way" in the way he sets up a club. If they were all in for Ex-Everton, they'd fit in w/ Bob's system.

That being said it would be nice to see Messi out of his Barca bubble (@#$% he's going to Klopp isn't he?).

I don’t like Koeman as much as the next fan and he was always an abrasive character but I do get the slight feeling that Barca are using him as a figurehead or the fall guy if you like for the very hard and divisive decision they made or at least decided had to be done quite a while ago.

Whilst a despicable person, the fella is an icon for Barca, scores the winning goal in their first European cup triumph.

I don’t understand why a club legend would go in there willingly as a patsy and help execute this plan, knowing that bridge is burned forever. On his previous form I tend to think he really is that full of himself that he thought Messi would bend the knee to him.
