Ex Everton managers are really going places.
Moyes at Manchester United
Martinez as the Belgium team manager
Koeman as Dutch NT and Barcelona manager.
Big Sam at Real Madrid.....

Where will Marco end up? Manager of Portuguese NT?

Doubt there are that many Barca fans imagining this.

Koeman's rep as a manager over there is, remarkably, even worse than it is here thanks to his spell at Valencia which was historically terrible. Suffice to say that in less than a year he took a side that had David Silva, David Villa, Juan Mata, Marchena, Banega, Albiol and others and would have relegated them if he hadn't been sacked.

This appointment is insanity. They'd have done less damage if they appointed a bloke whose only claim to fame is that he used to steal Messi's mums underwear off a washing line.
There's loads online on Reddit shouting down the Evertonians calling him a walking disaster.

It's a coping mechanism because Messi is definitely not sticking around and Koeman is a joke of a manager.

A lot of comments directed at him that he just doesn't deserve. His last three jobs got Southampton to 7th and 6th, us to 7th. Also Shaken Netherlands out of the slump they were in. Apart from that start of a season when we were stuffed by our new signings he has done OK, nothing to say he won't do well at Barca.
He had good players at Saints. He had a good squad here the first year. That Dutch team is fairly talented. Barca right now need a rebuild and this is where I find it hard to see Koeman getting it done.

Not to mention he has no real tactical style. He just kind of throws everything in a 4-2-3-1 or 3-4-3 and hopes the players can do the job.

I'm starting to think that Everton might be the problem

No mate , Walsh was the problem.

Granted you can chalk the likes of klaasen as his signing as that does make sense. The rest were Steve Walsh for the most part.

Koeman publically asked for a striker and a defender after every game and didn't get either

He brought in Keane, Williams, Martina.

He couldn't get Giroud. Sandro ended up Babs. Onreyuku couldn't get a work permit so started banging in for fun in Europe.

While I admit a striker should've been paramount. Spunking £70mill+ on the likes of Gyifi, Bolasie etc rather than using all that for a striker was something that wasn't thought through.

You bring in Ronk to slap heads and place order back. He's done it a few places.

As for a rebuild? Ex players have come out and said he can't do that.

Sandro was Walsh, onreyuku was Walsh z vlasic was Walsh .

Martina yes was koeman .

The others in the first season was more second choice rather than koeman specifically asked for them in my opinion. They wanted koulibaby / Mata etc and got bolasie and Williams instead. Those first season players were here nor there, 0 net spend and a new core of the side like most of our managers have done.

The overpayment was walsh again I think. Especially the siggurdson deal. Who else would be incompetent enough to agree a price and then go back and pay double at the first request to.

I'm not saying koeman didn't bring bad players in because he clearly did just as much as anyone else since. But the majority of the bad can be focused at the scout out of his depth rather than the manager who continually asked for players he didn't get.

He benefitted from Pochettino's work to salvage his reputation after Valencia.

We finished 7th that season but we were struggling even with a 25 goal a season Lukaku and Barkley in the team.
