If this is confirmed, then they really are a club in meltdown. I don't understand why it's so important for them to give the job to someone with a club link.

Crazy for them not to go for Pochettino. That seems like a perfect fit.

The Espanyol links have counted against him it seems. Plus it's obvious that Xavi the man they want for the long-term, only he's told them he's not ready to come in yet.

Koeman to be a stop gap for 1-2 years, like Setien was supposed be, before the glorious homecoming.

I mean if they want to drastically improve their recruitment and the attitude of their team he is not the man to appoint

Sandro was Walsh, onreyuku was Walsh z vlasic was Walsh .

Martina yes was koeman .

The others in the first season was more second choice rather than koeman specifically asked for them in my opinion. They wanted koulibaby / Mata etc and got bolasie and Williams instead. Those first season players were here nor there, 0 net spend and a new core of the side like most of our managers have done.

The overpayment was walsh again I think. Especially the siggurdson deal. Who else would be incompetent enough to agree a price and then go back and pay double at the first request to.

I'm not saying koeman didn't bring bad players in because he clearly did just as much as anyone else since. But the majority of the bad can be focused at the scout out of his depth rather than the manager who continually asked for players he didn't get.

Both are equally at fault. But players such as Keane (courted in the press) Bolasie (replace Del for power), Williams (cheap replacement for Stones with more experience), Siggy (the best playmaker outside the top 4 *to quote some people)

An outlay of nearly £100million regardless of sales was firmly Koeman agreeing that's who he wanted.

Add to that Klassen and Schniederlin (another £60million) we're knocking on £200mill that Ronk had his mitts over.

So I'm not having him crying foul play he didn't get who he wanted. Not at those numbers.

they want the shiny barca legend leading them to glory in the hour of need so they can make a movie about it later.

You would think Everton were a world class team if our former managers went to the best national team in the world and Barcelona and we got Carlo lollol
We're defo top 50 material It's a lot better than most. Just don't seem that way when you are looking at the teams above us.

He had good players at Saints. He had a good squad here the first year. That Dutch team is fairly talented. Barca right now need a rebuild and this is where I find it hard to see Koeman getting it done.

Not to mention he has no real tactical style. He just kind of throws everything in a 4-2-3-1 or 3-4-3 and hopes the players can do the job.

That Barca team should be producing more considering the front 3 they have. All depends how many stay of course but almost any team they put out will cake walk to 3rd in the league, they still have massive pull to bring in decent players. Rebuilding here and there is two completely different jobs, although ultimately if you don't win the league or the CL it could be curtains. I don't see him doing badly, whether it's enough is to be seen.

Ex Everton managers are really going places.
Moyes at Manchester United
Martinez as the Belgium team manager
Koeman as Dutch NT and Barcelona manager.
Big Sam at Real Madrid.....

Where will Marco end up? Manager of Portuguese NT?
Manager of Portuguese Tesco lol

Or Bayern Munich, one of the two.
