Hes like the ex who tells everyone you broke up with them because you wanted someone above your station when in truth they were just a boring money waster who though they were to good for you. Smiling at anyone whod show them the slightest bit of attention. Especially the nob ed over the road in his financed whip, thinkin hes mad but he knows hes skint

We shouldn't expect success? What's the point then?

I didn't hear the fat, box headed gobshite say that while he was happy spunking away hundreds of millions of pounds and nearly getting us relegated.
To be fair, I don't expect instant success, BUT I do expect that with the funds that have been made available, we should be progressing to a point where success is achievable and we should be noticing that.

Under Ancelotti, I can see progress towards success but we are hamstrung by not having enough players of the level required and like now when we have a few injuries, we have had more points that should be expected using 4 CBs and managing the situation so we keep at it. Then again, after the shocking capitulation of the players against Newcastle, I'd point to the long term mentality problem of the club created by the likes of Moonhead and Silva as a big part of the cause.

TL: DR - Moonhead = bad manager with a lot of excuses to hide behind.

Koeman could only dream of being as successful as ancelotti. Rather than try and explain it, these 2 quotes say it all.

Niasse on Koemam:

“When Koeman arrived I was a real good target to destroy,” Niasse told BBC.

“He tried, but I was strong enough to stay. I worked so hard to come to the Premier League so I had to stay in the Premier League.

“For him (Koeman), he worked so hard to let me go. He tried to do a lot of things that were not nice.

“Having taken my locker, my shirt number, he took me out of the dining room where we eat and took me to the Under-23s without no locker there.

“It was very difficult. You need a very strong mindset to deal with that because you don’t have any respect at the club.

“Using the word ‘slavery’ is too much, but it was very difficult. That’s all I can say.”

Bolasie on ancelotti:

"I spoke with the boss last week," he wrote. "Not news for me. All I’ll say is the respect I have for him is very high.

"I’ve finally been treated like a human being again after a few years. Football is not as simple as 123....

"My work rate and desire will never change."

Indeed. Moonhead didn't ever look like a man with a plan for the long term.

There probably were other issues. The Rooney signing looked an odd one, possibly pushed on him from above. I also suspect he and Walsh just didn't work together at all well. So you've got two less than optimal parts of a machine not working together. But that doesn't disguise his awfulness.
