Didn't go quietly apparently

He's perfect for us

He ticks every box we'd need

Known for playing good football

Known for giving kids a chance

Has won something

Has shown he can be given a long term project and deliver

Respected and liked amongst his players

It's an absolute no brainer

Any damage to his reputation from pre-Germany days was washed away with that amazing game against Brazil

You'll never see them losing by six goals in their own backyard ever again. That was a once in a generation moment. We'll be long dead by the time it happens again, if it ever does

He's just what we need

Mikey mate, how come you rate Tuchel so lowly and Loewe so highly - serious question?

Tuchel did well at Dortmund, fell out with the board - wasn't for being crap on the pitch, at Mainz he basically took a team the equivalent of Tranmere size wise and kept them in the mid to top 5 of that division for 5 years with no threat of ever going down

Seen you do the Martinez comparisons and just don't get it at all

Considering it isn't even November the man had been on borrowed time for some weeks. Never a sign at all he was changing his approach, we had all that with Martinez which probably didn't help Koeman. It was like deja vu all over again....

It was nothing to do with the pursuit of Sigurdsson. Giroud simply decided to stay at Arsenal, he said so himself recently.

But they should still have been trying to sign a centre forward - not another #10. Who could produce a decent team from this squad?

Now we'll have to wait until January to sign a centre forward. And who will want to come here then?

It's all Martinez' fault!

I am not as knowledgeable as many of the footballing guru's who frequent this excellent establishment, so forgive my ignorance when i say that i am rather unhappy at what has happened.

Not because i thought Koeman should stay, but because i thought a footballer of his stature (and for those who did not see him in his playing days, trust me he was breathtakingly good) should have been the ignition key for the stalled engine that is EFC. It upsets me massively that he was not! :(

So it is back to the drawing board for us, but i hope whoever follows Koeman through the door takes a long hard look at our first team squad, many of whom have now down tools twice! I like to think three or four of the spineless turds who are currently wearing our shirt quickly follow him out of the door!

...the game is littered with top class players who failed to make the transition to top class managers. Indeed, the likes of SAF, Wenger and Catterick were not noted for their footballing ability. Perhaps it’s more of a modern trend with Conte and Guardiola but they are at top clubs who spend top dollar.
