That's why I'd go for Tuchel mate, not for his time at Dortmund, but rather for what he did at Mainz - picking up a team - the team Klopp took up and then down again, he kept safely in the division and qualified for europe as well, at Dortmund - yeah ended badly cos of problems with the higher ups, but his record there was very good - considering the league was arguably stronger than when Klopp was doing his best at Dortmund - with a very dominant Bayern and stronger top half.

Young, fluent in English as well which helps, a point to prove, and has worked at three separate clubs in Ausburg, Stuttgart and Mainz as a youth coach prior to stepping up to the main job at Mainz - and both Stuttgart and Mainz produced some good young players during his time there.
I am the only one who's going to miss the dutch twang? "Shmoke and a pancake" @nosejam?

To think, Moyes with a 41% win rate has been our best manager since 1990.

No surprise really, results under him were solid mostly, and we had periods of genuine quality

I do have my concerns in that regard, Mikey, aye.

He too had a world-class striker at Dortmund that got him out of trouble.

Just not keen on going with Dyche, Allardyce or *gulp* (if Bill has his way) Moyes!

Ideally, Unsworth gives a great account of himself and you just never know.

He didn't have that at Mainz though, and a club that Klopp failed to keep up, he established them as a stable mid/top 7 team

Not one person thought Aubameyang was a world class striker until Tuchel became his manager btw mate, he was regarded as a good one yeah, but was under Tuchel that he practically doubled his goals per game, 41 in 94 for the two seasons under Klopp, 79 in 95 under Tuchel

Not getting a striker in was the biggest blunder and for which Walsh for me HAS to take the responsibility. The board had to take the responsibility for selling our biggest asset before having a replacement lined up.

The reason I have a cheeky feeling about Moyes is cos Kenwright loved him. And he may feel he is a man who knows this club better and knows how to organise a team. Not that I want him at Everton. I honestly am lost at where we go from here. The bubble of expectancy has burst and the toxic acid is now falling.

I have no inside information, but there are ruours that Kenwright was seriously put out by the way Moyes engineered his departure from us.

Don't rise to it mate.

Edit: Sorry still thought this was the Loew crap

Close Nymz, very close.

Two backroom teams he's been a part of now that's seen the manager sacked.

I get who he is and what he means but no one survives that.

..it’ll be interesting who assists Unsworth in the next few games. The romantics will mention Joe Royle but Unsworth appears to work well Ebbrell.

Dreaming gets you knowere tho

I can dream, not the board. I've got nothing to do with it, sitting thousands of miles away over here. On the other side of the equation, we could do far worse than Unsy right now.

We ride the roller coaster that is Everton, never quite hitting the top, never quite hitting the bottom. It's down to that board, and that's why we're in a tizzy. We thought they'd dither as usual, and here's they've cut their losses on Project Ronnie.

What's next? Watch this space...

ADVISORY - Don't be distracted by any geordie accusations you see randomly thrown about by known provocateurs.

Going through the PL stats, 9 games in we were in virtually identical or worse positions in 94-95 (Walker), 95-96 (Royle), 97-98 (HK mk3), 00-01(the blessed Walter) and 05-06 (the Moyesiah).

Of the above none were sacked at that point, Walker lasted another 5 games with us remaining rooted at the foot of the table. The rest at least saw out the season.

Er.. tryin to be positive like. I suppose I'm suggesting this sacking represents some form of progress.

At a cost of about £200M+.
