It may have been difficult to replace Lukaku, but he/they didn't sign anyone at all.

Giroud was apparently their target before the season began, but they devoted their time to Sigurdsson.

Now we'll have to wait until January.
It was nothing to do with the pursuit of Sigurdsson. Giroud simply decided to stay at Arsenal, he said so himself recently.

..Mosh must read GOT.

I wouldn’t go for Ancelotti. We need a manager with a record of building a side not somebody who inherits a group of top players at a top club. I wonder if Ancelotti still has the hunger and desire to lead Project Everton.

It’s a risk whoever we go for but availability has to be a concern even Everton is an attractive proposition. In the short-term I at least expect Unsworth to improve the atmosphere in the dressing room and get the teams attitude right. I’d also expect him to get more organisation.

That's why I'd go for Tuchel mate, not for his time at Dortmund, but rather for what he did at Mainz - picking up a team - the team Klopp took up and then down again, he kept safely in the division and qualified for europe as well, at Dortmund - yeah ended badly cos of problems with the higher ups, but his record there was very good - considering the league was arguably stronger than when Klopp was doing his best at Dortmund - with a very dominant Bayern and stronger top half.

Young, fluent in English as well which helps, a point to prove, and has worked at three separate clubs in Ausburg, Stuttgart and Mainz as a youth coach prior to stepping up to the main job at Mainz - and both Stuttgart and Mainz produced some good young players during his time there.

Had to happen, it had gone beyond bad results. Whole side was an utter mess of no confidence, no discipline and worst of all no desire.

The logic remains. You do not attract based on the recent form of your failed manager if you were a top 6/7 team before him.
I sound like I want allerdyce but I don't. I also don't a manger who has only done a few good things. Koeman and Martinez fall into this. I would take allerdyce over any flash in the pan manager if we can't get top notch. I'm sick of us taking gambles now.

Love all this stuff on bbc website of people bemoaning the bbc and them 'trying to get koeman sacked.' Watch a game or two of ours from this season and you'll see that Koeman did his best to get himself sacked not the media!
