Ronald Koeman Sacked

....the indication is that there was heated discussion after Sunday’s game involving Moshiri, Kenwright, Walsh and Koeman. If that report is accurate, then Koeman clearly came out of that poorly. Moshiri is a money man and after watching Sunday’s game perhaps there was one key item for discussion - Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The questions would be obvious, not least why spend £45m plus a hefty salary on a player who’s position you had already filled? Why spend £45m plus a hefty salary on a no10 when you had priorities elsewhere? Why was he your no1 target when he looks totally ineffective in the teams you set up?

It would explain why Koeman and Walsh got in a blame game argument. It’s all conjecture, but Sigurdsson might have been the discussion item that cost Koeman his job.

Anyone would question why we purchased Klaassen and Sigurdsson when Stone and Lukaku had yet to be replaced.
If anything we already had Barkley (who knows what will happen with Ross now) and the emerging Tom Davies, plus it appears the centre mid is where our U23s are developing best.

We were crying out for a top level striker and centre half. Whoever thought stacking the side with the same type of player was a good idea had to go. I wonder why they where all signed off too. I expect the Jim White phone conversation on deadline day was a shot across the bow at Koeman for wasting money.

The game that really started to concern me was that Atalanta game. Some were saying they were a good side. They're 12th in Serie A having won 3 games in 9, and played us miles away from their home Stadium/City. They're also a smallish club having never won the Italian League.

That 0-3 humiliation was when I started to think he wasn't the right man for the job. A truly shambolic performance from the manager and players.

The Times report is a good read but not entirely surprising.

Spent the training sessions before the weekend working on long balls to DCL bypassing the midfield.

He did the same in his first half of last season, bypassing Barkley, until we suddenly started to play football.

For those who have forgotten here was what Koeman said about Lukaku again.

Say's the 140 million pound failure of an Everton manager.

I'd forgotten abarrrr that.

...the appalling red christmas tree I forgive him for.

But how he ever thought that was an OK thing to say in interview is baffling really, hardly heightened his appeal did it.

Loved RK as a player, crap it hasn't worked out, kinda hoped it would, apparent early doors it wouldn't... but now it's done and you can take a step back and....well, makes me realise that he was never really 'into' the club in the first place was he...for all his faults at least Bobby M bought got giddy over us, think we just served a purpose for Ron.

It was still a stupid thing to say, but I’m pretty sure I’m the full version of those remarks her referred to that being the case “if Everton remain as they are now” as in if he spent a career with us while we remained a ~7th place side.

Still not what you want to hear from your manager mind.

It was never we or us with him.It was always they or Everton.Heck even Mike Walker had an affection for us.Before the 1995 FA Cup final in the BCC's pre match coverage. He wished us well and he came across as very affectionate towards us.Roberto Martinez was a good guy and so was Walter Smith.I always respect Walter for recommending that we bring in David Moyes as his replacement.Ronald Koeman though was just a cold clinical dullard. He never understood the size of this club, or got a sense of the traditions and heritage of this club.Just good riddance to bad rubbish really. That's how i feel about Koeman.
For all his faults, I think Bob genuinely did love Everton. He got really involved in EITC and did lots of silly goofy promotional stuff and brought his daughter to training and made sure he learned about our history. Koeman wasn't arsed and it showed. I'm not expecting whoever manages us to be all 'RAR RAR GRAND OLD TEAM' or whatever, but at least be a bit less contemptuous than Koeman.

I liked his aloofness at first, considered it a bit of swagger of which we were deffo lacking.

Then it started dawning that it was that at all...he just really wasn't that arsed.

Shame really.

Kevin Kilbane was on the wireless in Ireland last night, said people at the club have told him that there's a toxic atmosphere due to Koeman and Steve Walsh hating each other, and basically Walsh thinks he's the main man and is not shy in telling people.

if that's the case then walsh needs to pipe down and get in the bin aswell

as much his fault as it is koemans for our start, the putting all our eggs in giroud basket to not get him is one of the main reasons we are in this mess
