Ronald Koeman Sacked

His sacking was inevitable and the right decision. I can't work out after a solid first season how he didn't seem to have the ability to build on it .The recruitment over the summer was horrendous leaving the squad totally unbalanced ,too many of the same type of player; no left back /left sided cb lack of pace in the wide areas and of course the lack of at least one centre forward. Koeman will of course get another job but for now his dream of managing a Barca or equivalent club are a lot further away than when he joined last year.
Was he responsible for the recruitment though? That's the Football Director's job.

His reputation is damaged. That is true. But not sure if EFC any better off. Whoever the new coach is, they have a very difficult job.

The club should've signed a left sided defender and a striker but, other signings were definitely his though and maybe not good signings?

Dave Prenno ... nail on head.

Life has replicated art at Goodison Park, with Koeman cast in the role of Cool Hand Luke.

The difference is that Paul Newman’s character boasted charisma and charm, while Koeman has been aloof, even arrogant - and he never once connected with the influential Everton support base.

For a man who always spoke openly, honestly and candidly at press conferences, he failed to communicate with the fans.

There was no sense of the style or pattern of play he was trying to implement.

There was no sense of the club’s rich and vibrant history; it was always “Everton” rather than “we”.

We haven't really tried to appoint Everton people. Since Walter Smith it's just been outsiders.

I do have a bit of sympathy for Koeman. The failure to sign a replacement for Lukaku was what sunk his reign as Everton manager. If we had a proper striker to score the goals since August, then i think things could have been different for Koeman imo.

What hurt him that was impossibly outside his sphere of influence were the bad injuries to Bolasie and Coleman. The failure to sign a striker, guess we'll never know to what extent Koeman or Walsh should be held accountable, but that, coupled with the Barkley contract saga, are to me what has derailed us this season. That, and the drawn-out saga to sign Sigurdsson, which at the moment seems to be a grossly extravagant purchase.

My first misgivings about Koeman was when he said (to what extent it was taken out of context, I don't know) something along the lines of if Lukaku were to progress, he would need to move to another club. Whatever he may have thought privately, for him to say that at a presser is negligence.

It was never we or us with him.It was always they or Everton.Heck even Mike Walker had an affection for us.Before the 1995 FA Cup final in the BCC's pre match coverage. He wished us well and he came across as very affectionate towards us.Roberto Martinez was a good guy and so was Walter Smith.I always respect Walter for recommending that we bring in David Moyes as his replacement.Ronald Koeman though was just a cold clinical dullard. He never understood the size of this club, or got a sense of the traditions and heritage of this club.Just good riddance to bad rubbish really. That's how i feel about Koeman.
