Is he Trixy?
Apart from his stint with Valencia in 2007 (who under him won their first copa del rey that year since 1999) I think he's done well wherever he's gone.
He's a huge improvement on Moyes and Martinez. Experience in Europe at the highest level. Southampton sold every Tom, dick and Harry and he still got results and brought in some very good players. We have better players at Everton, I'm sure he'll bring them on another level and add quality with Moshi's backing. From the outside looking in, he's a very good addition to the club

Simply wrong. Moyes AVERAGE finish in the last 7 years with us was 6th place. We are appointing someone who's highest PL finish is 6th.

I genuinely don't understand why so many on here have to make out Moyes is some useless manager.

He's not useless but he would not have the capacity to attract the quality of player Koeman will plus he's burnt every possible bridge that he ever had with the fans. Koeman even won a pot at Valencia.

Klopp is on 7 million
Conte is on ,6.5
Pochettino on 5.5

Not quite sure where those figures are reported but those that I have read suggest both Klopp and Conte are on £5 million basic both have huge potential bonuses in Contes case it suggests he will get up to another £5 million if say Chelsea were to win the CL.
Irrespective of that I wonder what % of clubs income is accounted for by way of the managers salary

As a Richard I am positively offended that popular abbreviations of my name are auto redacted by the swear filter (n)

Oh and back on topic, I have to say I'm underwhelmed. This is a roll of the dice because we NEED to win stuff and we're appointing a manager, so it seems, who has no experience of managing a side to win any form of competition. A europa league place, as creditable as it is, does not count for anything.

There's no way we were going to go from Roberto Martinez to Jose Mourinho and neither, truly Unai Emery (no matter how much Moshiri threw at him) who has won his 3rd eufa cup in a row and Champions League with Sevilla next season. Emery was my first choice. Disappointing not to get him in. But I think Koeman will steady us and get us competing, it's going to be very hard to get top four next season but I think we'll be in amongst it, a cup is a must also. Build up our profile steadily, if Koeman can't get us top four and beyond we look for someone better. We have the right people in charge. We'll upgrade from now on

He was not useless, just lacking conviction when push came to shove. He burned his bridges though and believed the stupid banners when he went to manc. His ego got the better and so no thank you.

Agree with all of this. But reluctantly to the "if koemann can't get us top four.." I think it's just bugging me that we seem to have set our sights lower rather than higher. Did we try for Emery?

Im not suggesting Moyes was poor, I think Koeman plays in a way that goes out to win as opposed to setting up to counteract.
