Seriously.. Read into Rooney's comments : "You Football Supporters" <-- Here's a guy that broke after the game and expressed what the whole team is feeling.. Pressure from the Media and Fans and the thought of being turned into a joke if you make a mistake..

I just cannot see that, at all. Maybe I am a cynic, but that appears a media smoke screen to me.

Without a shadow of a doubt. People all over the country have been jibbing work, getting into debt, probably jeopardising relationships, all to support their country - and Rooney who is on what £100k minimum a week? Says something like that - for me that there just shows what a **** he really is, and I've been defending him recently. Well not anymore, supposedly the great hope? I support England because of Bobby Moore, Hurst, Matthews, Lineker, Bobby Robson, Platt, Gazza, players and managers who wore their heart on their sleeve for club and country - Wayne Rooney tonight proved to me that he plays for the front cover of Fifa 2010 and that is all.

Beckham, like England captain Terry after him was an adulterer. The current Englad side is chock full of backstabbing dirtballs, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Saint Stevie, Rooney. As people they are not a patch on the clean living, bingo loving side of 66. Maybe it is the media, maybe it is the cult of celebrity, maybe it is lust for money. Where is the honest everyman, committed to his wife and kids in the side that is a cut above? A great player, dedicated to his club, and humble?

He is the only one on the English team who expresses his emotion.. What Gerrard say.. "Yea we need to play better" (Well no [Poor language removed] sherlock)..

With only 4 minutes left in the game Rooney was covered in Sweat and frustration, Gerrard had one little bead of sweat, hair was dry as the desert..

Seems to me a few of Europes self ordained football monarchy have had a bit of a wake up. What depths do our cricketers descend too? A pedalo and a bit of chuff. Our cyclists are the best there is, to the extent that jealousy has seen the best sprinter in the world penalised at the tour last year and recently in Switzerland. Best Olympic rower in history. National pride and sporting endeavour is great, but backing some of the scum buckets gifted with the opportunity to become heroes is something of a step too far.
At what point do you write a player off, even if he is trusted with the honour of the England shirt made great by true legends?
