Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

I like him. He might not have much up top (which is what prevents him being a great player) but he usually puts a shift in for us and tries something different in most games. It may not always work, but as we no longer have Hazard we’re a bit short of game changers.

Ancelotti will sparkle up the attack this summer and we'll have one who has great movement and who can lead the line. That'd allow for a 4231 or 4141. He could also play a diamond shape as he did at times at Chelsea and retain two up.

I dont think he's an ideologue over formations. Ross would thrive in a system like those.

His problem is he only becomes a game changer 1 every 8/9 games he’s too inconsistent hence why he’s hardly had a sniff yous

He's had considerably more good games than that and has been good for England for a long time now.

Won't ever reach the heights people initially hoped for but id be more than happy to have him in our central midfield alongside Gomes.

Not for me mate. He left to go to the next level and imo he’s failed because he’s not good enough in a team with better players around him.

When he see Iwobi, Delph, Schniderlin, Davies most of the time, Barkley is definitely a cut above

He played pretty regularly under Sarri who trusted him in a possession based side. Him and Kovacic are basically the same player.

I think this is why people got so frustrated with him. People expected him to run whole games for us and he was very good in his last season but people still wanted more from him despite him being our most creative player by a distance.
