Walk being the operative word here.
He has technique but is miles too slow (so can't start for a top 4 club) and is scared of the ball (so can't start for Everton football club). Could see him absolutely running the show in a slower, possession based league but that ain't here.

How he left the club aside my assessment of Barkley would be:
streaky very streaky. He never controlled games as such but would provide the link and some moments of magic on his good days of which there were unfortunately few. Probably never put more than 3-4 consistent 7/10 performances together in a row and when he was off the entire team absolutely carried him. He was a physical specimen and had he had the footballing brain and decision making he could’ve been great. I never got the feeling he was entirely devoted to the football though.
To put it simply he was and is an average premier league footballer capable of good things on his day but not great off his day as you would expect from someone at that level. Once we realised he wasn’t reaching his early promise we never really missed him and Evertonian or not I’d have a Richarlison, Holgate, DCL over him any day of the week.

The way that he left us, or more importantly didn’t leave us in that January means he should never ever ever be welcome back here again.
Far worse than Rooney, far far worse. Actively screwed the club over for his own gain, Rooney hurt but there were too many variables. Barkley is a skip rat and I hope he gets banged out again every single time he goes to town.

He was so butthurt about some perceived injustice that he even removed everything Everton from him. He got his Everton tats removed, he deleted all pictures of him at Everton.
Such a small time person much less player.

Showing all those who were glad to get shot of him and claim he ain't good enough for us up here. The boy is a player. Better than anything we have in the middle, gomes aside, by an absolute mile.
