Barkley haha we had Chelsea off with this one
Still better than Sigurdsson
Honestly, quite a lot: he has/had lots of potential in terms of ability but he's never consistently applied it for what I can determine as a multitude of reasons.completely different league to Siggurdson. I didn’t like his attitude that much at times but when was Ross Barkley not a really good player?

I'm not saying he is/was terrible, but he's never been the most of intelligent* of footballers and I've always stated that he's struggled to really apply this talent.
He's twenty-six and in the majority of his career has been nothing more than a top average to good player; honestly, I can't see that changing now.
*footballing intelligence: ability to play the correct ball; move into space; resilience on the pitch etc.
To an extent... he's gone through phases of being relegated to the bench for periods of time if he's reached the team at all.A lot of that time was with us though under hopeless managers. He’s played well for Chelsea since he’s joined and been trusted by both Sarri and Lampard.
Considering us and Chelsea agreed a £35m fee on transfer deadline day August 2017 only for it to fall through at the last minute, then we ended up getting just £15m when he eventually left the following January, I'd say it was us that got had off.
Fair assessment.Honestly, quite a lot: he has/had lots of potential in terms of ability but he's never consistently applied it for what I can determine as a multitude of reasons.

He's not consistently not been in their first XI for this season at least nor was he under Sarri.
yes we sold Barkley for 15 million and bought Siggurdson for 40. Chelsea might sell Ross for 30 now. We were the definite winners from that one.
True, however I'd ask how many really important fixtures Chelsea have started with Barkley in their XI? Is he seen as one of their primary players?Chelsea play more games in more competitions than we do and have an overall stronger squad
Rotation is to be expected and isn't always a comment on the player in question
