I just don't get that about Barkley. He could have had the pick of the fit single birds every time he went out in Liverpool. Why did he end up shagging some gangster's Mum? Or getting sparked out trying to chat up some lad's girlfriend? Silly boy!

It's just how some people are I guess. I had a friend who couldn't defend himself against a wet blanket but would have no issues sniffing around another blokes girlfriend regardless of the consequences. It never sat right with me.

I suppose with Barkley it's going to be magnified many times. Dodgy attitude coupled with big wages, ego and high profile.
Think Richard Dunne was similar when he was with us.
Heard he got sparked out in Concert Square despite being built like a heavyweight at 17!
Yeah, he's in the spotlight but isn't that all the more reason to keep your head down. I know it's easy to preach to others when you're not involved.

No one doubts Barkles natural abilities as a footballer, however, that's not enough in the modern footballer you have to be top athlete all the time as well. No nights off mid season no stepping off physical regime in closed season...
Yes, I agree. And that's what I meant. Dare I say Barkley is a more naturally talented footballer than DCL. However, DCL has applied himself, listened and worked hard to get where he is now. In complete contrast to Barkleys application.
Well the reason he never really kicked on in football is the reason he keeps on getting in trouble in his personal life. He's simply thick. He has all the natural gifts in the world. "All the tools, no toolbox".

Think Francis Jeffers was like this too. Not as talented as Ross, but could still have had a very good EPL career.
Formed a really promising partnership with Kevin Campbell but then got silly and demanded a move to Arsenal.
Career totally petered out after that.
Think he liked going out on the piss too instead of concentrating on his footy.
Shame as he wasted what could have been a good career with us and England
