Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

If the Wolverhamton Tribune's reporting is to be believed, Bethany Jo played large part in kiboshing Roscoes move to Burnley...she feels it's a little too close to Merseyside and she's worried that the fatwa imposed on Roscoe (by her gangsta son no less!) might extend it's reach into that town.
Interesting times we live in!

I wish I had the exchange saved from around the time I first joined here maybe 4 years ago or so. It was during his last year here when I said he had no business being on the national team and I was promptly called an idiot or told that I didn't understand how crap the English team were.

I'm not using this as vindication of me not being an idiot, but at least in this instance I can confidently say I wasn't wrong lol.

The problem is with that is he was decent back then. Chelsea wouldn't have gone in for him if he wasn't international class would they?

I think he just struggled leaving Everton, he had another minor upward blip at Villa where he looked the part (see the 7-2 game for instance) but he obviously isn't 100% happy with something in his life or fallen out of love with football. This happens.

Seems such a waste, on his day, excellent.
But I think your right, is raking in money and probably didn't go kicking off to try and secure a move.

What a waste of talent. Totally down to himself imo, just doesnt - or didnt- have the right attitude to work hard and fulfill his potential. When you see how the likes of Declan Rice, who I think is a decent player, work hard and get into the England ahead of Barkley then he can only blame himself.

Gone real sour for him. it is a shame, he dazzled some days for us. Haven't watched much of him since he left, not many have in fairness. . . Is he still a capable player ?.

He made a terrible decision to run down his contract and leave us. His form has fallen off a cliff ever since. It's a lesson in how you should show more respect to your first club who gave you a shot at top flight football.

A year without a squad number, presumably outside of Chelsea's 25 man squad is all a bit sad really. He's 27 and should have been playing the best football of his career. I doubt he'll have many decent options on a free next season.
