This on toast la. Obviously I wouldn't want him to go if he's risking injury, but it would be a great experience and would ultimately benefit their clubs too IMHO.I was at the final last year- featuring Isco Alcantara De Gea for Spain, Borini even scored for Italy. It was excellent.
For any player's own personal professional development I think it is vital for them to compete in these tournaments.
Let's not kid, if the u21 team featured the likes of Wilshere, Ox, Chambers, Stones, Barkley, Sterling, this team could 100% win the tournament. No doubt about it. And is it of greater benefit for these players to play minutes off the bench in a world cup where they get eliminated in the group stage or to actually challenge to be the best on the continent amongst their contemporaries? They'll be able to take the experience of actually succeeding in international tournaments with them up to the senior level, among the other established stars who have never tasted anything close to success in international football.
That being said I trust Roberto to make the right decision- he has always seemingly valued player's taking part in international football (letting Ledson go instead of getting his club debut last year is a good example). But in my eyes I think it would be brilliant for Barkley, Stones, Browning, etc to go and challenge to win this thing.
This is all true...which makes it even more insane that when he gets injured we have no one to turn to who can carry the threat to the opposition in the middle of the park. Obviously you wont get a like for like replacement for the prince of English football, but we need some back up in terms of a driving force 'box to box' type. That's as crucial as bringing in a CB next transfer window.
Cant say I've heard of him, tbh.Delle Alli from MK Dons would be great cover for Ross.
You're being very naive if you don't think there's a huge difference between £80k a week and £160k a week pal, the difference is huge and there's no way him or his agent are going to let his contemporaries earn so much more money than he does just because he's a fan of the club he plays for.
There'll be a point soon were we pay him the going rate or someone else does.
Doesn't always happen like that though mate.
Exhibit # 1
Admittedly that's not what usually happens, but lets just enjoy Ross while he's here, which he's likely to be for at least 2 or 3 seasons.

but unfortunately I have a horrible feeling that it's going to be more down to Kenwright and Co rather than Ross's own personal decision, and I can't for the life of me trust that lot not to sell.
I rejected quite a few pics on the grounds that Leighton didn't look aroused.Near the knuckle on the nipple filter there ffs WB.
Pure profit when we sell him. Good point.I always smile when I remember Coleman was 60k, but dont forget, Ross Barkley was free!
