Ross Barkley

Its simple with Ross, as it is for Stones Lukaku and McCarthy, if he turns out to be as good as we think he will, we will win trophies and have champions league and they can fulfill their ambition with us. If this lot can't get their act together for even one cup win then they're not that special and you take the massively inflated fee.

I personally think this is a special group and Ross knows he could be the star of all of it to lead Everton back to the top. Even if it all fails, in Barkley Stones, Lukaku McCarthy, Coleman and Besic we have got a ridiculous amount of assets in the squad, enough to finance a new top team - as long as you dont have Brenda spending it!

Paragraph 1 absolutely spot on. If you have genuine ambition then you realise it with Everton.

Paragraph 2 absolutely spot on. They decide the grass is greener then some mutha fucka is paying top top.dollar for them

"While Wayne Rooney departed Everton for Manchester United aged just 18 and Jack Rodwell also moved down the M62 for an ill-fated spell at City, Martinez is unimpressed with players who feel they have to move to win things as he believes that if they are truly great players then they could win things at the club they already play for,

He said: “It’s no good just saying ‘I want to have success’ and then not have a responsibility on it.

“I heard many want to move clubs because they want to win titles. I think they are in the wrong business. You need to take the responsibility of winning things, otherwise you are not that good if you cannot affect the results of your team."

Can't get any more succinct than that.

They run the same story every week and ignore everything Martinez says.

When we get to January, they'll say City & Chelsea will bid mega bucks during the January transfer window to sign him & boost their title hopes.

When that doesn't happen, they'll go back to saying that City & Chelsea will be signing him in the summer.

For once I'd like the papers to acknowledge the UEFA FFP restrictions on City - if they signed Barkley for £40m/£50m next summer they would not be able to make any more signings. That would be their whole pot gone. Their expenditure needs to be linked to their revenue streams. UEFA already punished them for breaching this in the summer, forcing them to have a 21 man CL squad.

Unless Ross or his agent starts agitating for a move (same goes for any player) this isn't happening at all. Rooney situation comparisons are moronic & uneducated. Baines situation comparisons are far more appropriate.

That's not true mate. We can spend what we like come next summer. The commercial revenue which the club brings in has put us in a position where FFP will be nothing more than a passing afterthought in the coming years.

You can hear it the tone of his quotes that something's going on. Very aggressive in terms of building a picture of "players need to be careful etc etc". Using the Owen to Madrid analogy. Talking about one club in particular to whom it doesn't matter whether a player has signed a contract or not.

I think City will end up signing minimum three top drawer players next summer. Reus is number 1 on their list. Looks like they don't want to miss out on Barkley either. 45 million sounds about fair in today's market. Lets see how he does for the remainder of the season and how his knees hold up.

Before anyone starts accusing me of being arrogant etc. I think Kenwright is going to sell, and certainly the people i've spoken to suggest he's already at the table negotiating.

Whoever your speaking to then mate is chatting absolute [Poor language removed]. And judging by the tone of Martinez comments he's having a dig at other teams players and not his own. Ross isn't going anywhere and 45m? Behave yourself!! When he may finally decide he wants to leave in a few years he will be moving on to a bigger club than city mate I can assure you and it will be for a hell of a lot more than 45m.

I don't expect much love for what I just posted, but it's the truth. Whether he's valued at 40 million or 60 the point is Martinez knows he's open to a move and Kenwright is talking to City. Hence his tone.

Lol yeah mate that's why about 2 months ago he signed a new deal saying he wants to become a club legend here, THOSE same Barkley and kenwright?

Why would Kenwright be negotiating now? And just with City?

I suspect because City have an eye on January. With the potential of Toure going to the ACON, Lampard going to New York, and Ross not being cup tied for the CL. Also simply because transfers of this size take time to negotiate.

As for Kengwright talking to other clubs, I'm sure he'll talk to whoever gets in touch with him. I can only speak of City's current talks.

As i say, I don't expect to get much love for what I posted. But I'm sure if one or two of you take a step back and look at the reality of the situation, you'll acknowledge, as Martinez has, that at a certain price Everton will sell. Otherwise why would Martinez be saying "United sold Ronaldo".
