Ross Barkley

It's taking the piss playing him out wide. It's a Moyes-like call or one of those duffer managers in the Ch'ship he went on loan to.

He's an attacking central midfielder. Play him there and he'll get you the performances he did last season.

Martinez is being an utter tool playing Naismith ahead of him in that position.

We'll see now, if Naismith is injured, but Naismith has contributed considerably more than Ross this season, even allowing for Barkleys injury. Barkley is currently either not fit, not interested, or not as good as Evertonioans think. I read somewhere recently...'Great players are sometimes great, sometimes good' and 'good players are sometimes good, sometimes bad' Barkley is currently bad.

There's absolutely no question about Barkley. He has a colossal talent. If Martinez chooses to play him wide then his ropey form is down to him not Ross.

It's like building a stable, putting the donkey in there and leaving a Derby thoroughbred out in the weather.

Ross just hasn't been playing well. He hasn't even been doing the basics well. That's nothing to do with where he's played.

Probably goes some way to explaining why Hodgson didn't seem interested in playing him vs. Scotland.

If Barkley is going to recapture his form sometime soon, his best chance of doing this will come from playing him in his preferred position.

Naismith is injured so at least that gives him the chance to play off the striker. Or if not, then Eto'o who has looked class off Rom.

For me, Ross is still not 100% fit and I think his confidence level is not where it needs to be. He dallied on the ball too much for my liking today and his distribution was not great. As to him going down too easily, I won't say diving, I think he's seen Steven Pienaar win dozens of free kicks by going down easily and allowed that trait to enter his game. He is still a shadow the Ross Barkley who shone brightly a lot last season and maybe he needs a little more time to get back to his best. Having Woy yell at him after 10 seconds on Tuesday won't gave done him any favours either.

Someone at the club needs to teach this boy to tackle because he has broken leg written all over him. Pulling out of 50/50's is the quickest way to get seriously hurt I know. Not only that he takes his eyes of the ball and looks at his opponent so he doesn't get hurt and he tackles from the wrong side.

Fear because I don't think he plays great as a No10 and he's more effective from the bench.

Plus I want Ross to get a run of games because ultimately i dont like our formation playing both Naismith and Eto'o there.

And Ross is being ruined on the left.
