Ross Barkley

He was good tonight in a few eye catching surges. Lost the ball in his own half a couple of times though, and when he did get a run at the Italian defence he didn't really get his head up and gave the ball away cheaply.

He does look a thoroughbred carrying the ball at pace. I think we might be tested with a bid in the summer, tbh.

If rumours are true, Chelsea already hit us with 25mil and will be coming back with another offer soon... some Jarg stuff from FB twitter etc etc though...

If that gets near £35M I think it'd force hands.
I think we could force more than that to be honest, we're usually good at squeezing out the money.

However, I don't personally think Ross would want to leave us just yet - but it might all depend on whether we actually have any money at all for the war fund without selling. History tells us...

Wish all those trying to sell Ross would belt up... If Ross goes Stones, Garbutt, Ledson, Browning, Lukaku and all the other emerging youngsters will go too.

We need to keep Ross and build the team around him !!

Great Woy, you finally see it

Now start the lad in every game, not as a sub behind Delph/Carrick/Herndershite, and don't let him go anywhere near the glorified summer camp that is the Under 21s European Championships.

Pity he didn't take the shot on after his first turn and run rather than playing it wide to Walker. The ball was sat up perfectly for him. 18 months ago he'd have taken the shot without thinking twice about it. Not sure whether that shows an improvement in his game or whether its something exciting that's being knocked out of him.

I think a bit of both. It looks like he might need to take a step backwards to to forwards. He just needs the time to learn when and when not. This season he has overcompensated his game so hopefully next season he'll get the balance right.
