Last night would certainly have done his confidence the world of good which is the main thing that is causing his recent poor performances.

He still made a couple of mistakes but was still looking for the ball and trying things, that is the Barkley we need next season.

He will come good, and when he does we will have that player everybody would like to have.

Must be an immense source of pride to our academy to see that arguably two of the finest English talents Barkley and Rooney playing for England together. Oh how'd we would have loved to see them playing for everton together.

Is he good again?

Barkley hasn't played all season for everton as well as he did for England last night. For what it's worth I thought Barkley played well nothing more, think the press have gone overboard about his display. But the question has to be asked why hasn't he performed anywhere near that level for us this season? Maybe only Ross or Martinez can answer that, but sadly this has been one of the main frustrations of an incredibly frustrating season for evertonians, as to why he has performed so poorly for us. Because he is the best young English talent in the game, yet everton fans aren't seeing it!
