Odd game to throw him in I thought.
I thought the same mate.
Was very shocked to see him start. Failry sure we won't for the rest of the season though!

Yeah, sadly.
I thought he looked off the pace and like he was terrified of making a mistake, which made him make more. He should be allowed a few more games to settle in and get used to it IMO.
His confidence will be at rock bottom if he disappears again.
Perhaps, although isn't the general consensus of those close to him that he's not exactly a lad with morale issues? Anyway, he was fairly poor against Spurs. If a senior player has a bad game they might expect to be benched in the next. At some point every young prospect has to go through that, and it's a vital test of their mettle.
While I can see the temptation, I'm against fielding anything other than our strongest team against QPR, and that means Barkley would start on the bench. We'll know after the Arsenal game how are season will pan out, or at least know once and for all if we have even the slightest chance of top four. If we don't, it makes sense to give him more playing time.
I know there's a case to be made that Barkley could do more in Osman's role than Leon currently is - I tend to agree - but I can't see Moyes making that fairly bold change so soon.
Where's all the Osman negativity come from??
I'm no massive ossie fan and start of the season thought he should be no more than a squad player but in CM this season he's been very good bar maybe a month around jan/feb when the pitches were heavy and he was knackered from all the football he's played.
One of our biggest problems this year is even when winning we'v never really put games to bed to be bringing Barkley on not under pressure.

David Weir spoke about Ross at the stand together evening.
He basically said this, not word for word but what I can remember:
Ross has been earmarked as the next big thing. But you never know. Whay you usually find is it's someone you don't expect that goes on breaks into the first team and does really well. Its really hard to throw young players into Premier League games these days because of the quality. Ross has got all the attributes to become a top player, but you never know.
I just got the impression that he didnt rate him very highly and was quick to stop the hype whilst still acknowledging he could go all the way. But he kept saying "You never know".
Moyes knows more than any of us, so he must be right.
