Definitely got better as the game went on. Looks like he is missing a bit of sharpness but that will come with time.

That was the right game for him to play Arsenal let you get on the ball.

They hounded him when he had it and his first touch was poor. When he had time and space, he was fine. When he was under pressure he either misplaced a pass or lost the ball.

His work rate improved no end. Was an absolute terrier.

I just don't think he's got that sharpness and alertness yet for the Premiership.

Good pre season and next season will change that though.

His close control and touch look first rate.

I actually think Moyes played it superbly bringing him off when he did too- was getting a little over zealous and got booked for the shirt pull. Good management in my opinion.

I agree compleately mate, I can't see him getting on in games with relegation Grocks snapping at his heels he needs time and space. He will get there but I'd bring him on with. 20 mins to go as legs tire.

My old man rung me after the game, HIS opinion of Barkley was, I would be having a word with him about losing the ball again.

What a joke that is, I asked him what would he say to Gibson and Pienaar about them losing the ball ??

If that really is the popular opinion of him, then we just don't deserve a player like him coming through.

So what he loses the ball, thats what happens when you gamble. He is played up the park so he has the players to back him up. He can lose it loads if we he is popping of shots like that now and again, and the odd cheeky through ball.

He showed more today as footballing "Number 10" then Tim Cahill did in the last 2 years. The boy is class, and i am made up he is getting time on the pitch.

Well done lad, cracker game.

Amazing what happens when a young player is played in his natural position and afforded some faith from his manager isn't it?

This thread will be vaulted ad nauseum a few years from now.

Looks like Moyes has played a blinder to me, brought him in just at the right time in his development.
