Ross Barkley

I wonder what kind of illness he has tho.

Cos his knees are fine playing for the ressys/U18s and England and he must surely train everyday.

His knee appeared to be ok last time he played at Blackburn as well, maybe its only some grounds that cause total knee explosion.

Poor Ross.

It's a shame he has faux knees, could have been a contender.

Poor Ross.

Its called "Not-ready-itis".

With a severe case of "At-least-we're-not-Villa-itis" and just be thankful its not a case of "Get-owen-coyle-in fever".

That would have been terminal.

But is he?

As talented as Rooney in my opinion, not as explosive, but he's a different type of player, more of a midfield playmaker than a forward. That being said, he's also taller than Wayne and more two footed, so he has things over him in his favour.

I can see where Moyes comes from when he talks about him learning the position, the defensive side of his game reminds me of Rodwell's a season or two ago, he lets runners go, isn't very aggressive and doesn't look like he enjoys that side of the game all that much. He'll need to improve in these areas in the coming years but unlike Rodwell he has a style, he's a playmaker first and foremost, and this isn't going to change. In the right areas he could offer this team alot, even at 18. I don't actually mind him not playing now we have Pienaar and Drenthe available to us, but I think he should have been used more earlier in the season, even sparingly, as an impact player. Hopefully Moyes is true to his word and introduces him in the next month or two.

I've kept an eye on his games for the reserves, under 18s and various England groups he's always involved in goals, making an impact, whether it's making the final pass, scoring the odd goal or being involved in the build up.

With Drenthe out and Pienaar cup tied as well as Coleman and Rodwell injured Barkley's playing for the reserves today.

How can he go from starting games in early season to not even be on the bench when we've got half the team missing?!

Koff Moyes with your exploding knee theory.
