Ross Barkley

Agree. I remember his first goal against Palace and how excited I was about him, I think he just got back playing again and then had a fairly horrible injury against Bolton, for the brief spell up to that game I seem to remember him looking great and really thought he was all set to score plenty for us.

he was competeing against some of the best defences in the league until then

Bit harsh on Vaughan that mate. Clearly a very talented player, just been hugely unlucky with injury.

Vaughan's a great lad and one of the most likeable chaps in footy doing well for himself at Championship level, no point denying that he was largely bang average here though, he scored like 7 times ffs.

Apparently Morrison has been charged in the past with two accounts of witness intimidation, had an assault case dropped by his girlfriend cause she refused to testify, and got in trouble for homophobic tweets. Why would Manchester United want to get rid of such a fine young man?!

To be fair to him they never got rid as such. When it came time to renew his contract he made what they considered to be unrealistic demands regarding playing time, so instead of letting him see his contract out they sold him to West Ham. He went there expecting to be starting each week but they didn't feel he was ready. Instead of sitting on the bench he took a pay cut so that he could go to Birmingham on loan and by all accounts he come back a different person. Obviously club fans on both sides are wildly biased, but if you ask anyone who follows English youth footballers they'll tell you that he's comparable to Barkley in terms of talent. In fact if he had Barkley's attitude throughout his development he'd probably be well ahead of even Wilshere. I still believe he can be a big talent, but he'll probably never fulfil the potential he had as a kid.

Be interested to see if Ross gets in the England squad for the upcoming WC games.
Be poor form from Hodgson is he dumps him after two games.

To be honest mate I wouldn't expect him to stay in the squad, quite often you see a young player come, get given their first taste of International Football and you don't often see them again until at that stage for a while. I would presume that'll be the case with Ross, if he continues to regularly start and play well then he will still get another chance before the World Cup.

Ross isn't an ordinary player tho.

You see the likes of sterling and such, good players but just being given a taste of the action. Then players like Rooney, Wiltshire etc who are destined for being England players long term. IMO Ross falls into that second category.

He should get a call-up, same with Morrison, but more because there's a dearth of talent in front of them than because they're potential world-beaters. Ross seems top class until you look at the talent that other countries are producing.

The more he plays the more mystifying moyes's refusal to play him becomes.

He is going to take us the champions league. Fact.

I like how the 'Are you watching David Moyes?' chant was followed directly by Ross nailing someone, taking the ball then finding a pass.
