...I know you can read what you want into stats, but I am encouraged with top third of the pitch detail. It was this area I was concerned about in the first few games. The indication is that we are playing a lot more in that space, its still the tempo I would like to see increased. Its ok when we are chasing the game, e.g. 2nd half v Hammers, but we had been a bit lacklustre up to that point. Saying that, I'm sure Lukaku will help in respect of this.

April this year

"
We've chosen times when we think we can get him a game and a run-out but he did very good in the [Arsenal] game, better than he had done in the Tottenham game so it showed that he can improve and understands what he's got to do and we'll continue to try and bring him on at the right speed.

"He missed a lot of football through his early part of his career with a broken leg and he was out as well when he was in the academy for a long time so it's maybe going to be a little bit slower than a lot of supporters would want him to be.

"They'd want to see a lot of him but I can tell you he's not ready to be someone who's starting every game and every week, that's for sure."

Seems ready to me yer ginger troll

Haha, indeed.

But then again, this is a guy who developed such thunderous talent as Nick Chadwick, Jose Baxter, Dan Gosling, James Vaughan and Jack Rodwell, so maybe I should pipe down.

Sorry Davey, you got this boy very wrong, thankfully it's we Evertonians who are enjoying the benefits while you pick Tom Cleverley and Ashley Young every week.

Bit harsh on Vaughan that mate. Clearly a very talented player, just been hugely unlucky with injury.

Agree. I remember his first goal against Palace and how excited I was about him, I think he just got back playing again and then had a fairly horrible injury against Bolton, for the brief spell up to that game I seem to remember him looking great and really thought he was all set to score plenty for us.
