Haha! That put a massive smile on my face - the lad is sheer class. All the more reason why I will be furious if he doesn't start tomorrow.

I think this post shows lack of football knowledge. Barkley is a cut above the rest. He has the potential to be world class. If you can't see that then you are blind. It's not premature it's called being able to see a player. He sticks out and that's that.

Mate, I dont care what level someone has played at, but an ex pro will see more, or less for that matter, in a player than a layman. In general that is.

It's not that I can't see what you see, it's that you're not putting it into the proper context. He is not a cut above the likes of Morrison and Hughes at England youth level, let alone some of the international talent around. There are a hundred lads out there with Barkley's talent, and as someone who has followed youth football as best he can for quite some time, I can assure you that making claims about who is going to be world class is absolutely futile. He may well become world class, he has the potential, but the certainty of the hype machine is laughable.
