Ross Barkley

I'm generally quite pessimistic when it comes to keeping hold of star players, but I think Barkley will stay at least another two or three years.

He's unlikely to be in a rush to play under Moyes again, and City, Arsenal and Chelsea are all well-stocked in terms of creative midfielders at the moment. Comparisons with Rooney are inevitable, but the difference is that Everton aren't bankrupt at the moment and can afford to keep him for as long as he's satisfied with the wage structure. Also, as impressive as he is, Barkley isn't the same freak talent Rooney was, i.e. good enough to play for any team in the world at 18. I think the elite clubs watching will be happy to allow him to develop a while longer.

Utd won't come in for him.

Moyes doesn't have a f*cking clue about the lad.

Taking him off for giving a peno away despite him being the brightest spark in a sh*t Everton side before loaning him out to two clubs for about 11 minutes, before coming out in the media saying "They'd want to see a lot of him but I can tell you he's not ready to be someone who's starting every game and every week, that's for sure."

Bet the lad is screaming to work with him again.

This really.

You've got short memories if you think Barkley will want to work with him again in a hurry.

Barkley loves Everton and were are a very good team that he will be the main man in that team.

It's nothing like the Rooney situation and I am massively confident the boy will be going nowhere anytime soon.

One day in the future if we don't reach CL or seriously challange for trophies he may well move on but that's a way down the line. Don't panic and enjoy watching our very own mr Everton grow!

Think that is pretty much spot on. I hope. Utd under Fergie, yeah, could see it, but not now. The only, *ahem*, top/sky club that need him are that lot. And he wont go there, obviously.

I also don't think he's going anywhere in the next few years. When Rooney came through we were rubbish and he had some dreadful players alongside him, he probably could have given us 2-3 more years but maybe he though Man U would move on and it would be a opportunity missed. Now we have some quality players, the manager is trying to play excellent attacking football and we are doing well with him being trusted by Martinez and given the freedom to express himself on the pitch.

Also Man U are in a transition now and they have some average players and the Fergie factor has gone now. We are on the up and they could well be on the way down.
