Ross Barkley

Honestly though there aren't many things more exciting than when we clear our lines and pass it to Ross, who then turns around and sees about 50 yards of green ahead, and starts tearing off like the Dukes Of Hazzard.

Thats not actually Ross Barkley we're seeing.

His knees exploded when he took that shot against Norwich and has since been replaced by a robot with iron legs.

Had a good chat with a manc today who was there last night.

Really can not see anything in Fellaini..But Barkley, he feels really annoyed because he thinks they could have bought Ross for much less than the 27 mil they spent on felli, i told him last night Ross wasn't at his best and he is really gutted they bought "the wrong one".

He then went on to slate Moyes... I must say this is the first time, he always backs him when the lads **** Moyes off but not anymore.

Ross ain't for sale.

Started the 2nd half extremely well and I don't understand why he was taken off. After he went off united controlled the game for the next 10 mins as a consequence. Should be playing as a CM IMO, he doesn't the subtlety of an AM. But when driving from deep he's absolutely unstoppable plus he's got a majestic range of passing.

Yeah confused by people saying he didn't play well against utd, I thought he was good, granted a couple of poor final decisions but all players were doing that on both sides. He's dangerous, and like someone said when he picks up the ball deep and runs 30yrds with it WOW!

I think he was taken off purely because Delefoe had been so good the week before he was always gonna come on at some point. Pienaar was doing a very good job containing there right side with the young Belgian and Valencia both looking to attack, mirallas was a constant threat, so unfortunately for Ross think he just drew the short straw.

There certainly was a noticeable difference when he went off tho is say.

Pienaar was giving us very little IMO and that's who should've gone off. He was contributing to the team offensively and our team since martinez has come in is more about attack than containing teams. From the 50th min to the 70th we had pure control of the game. Of course Deulofeu had to come on to try to win us the game but I don't think it should've been for someone who was the main contributor of the control we had enjoyed in that period.

I think some spend to much time thinking about his end product and decision making in the final third to truly appreciate the quality of work he does in the middle third. He's absolutely key to the level of control we have in the game.

He really wasn't doing very little mate. Just because Roberto is attack minded it doesn't mean we don't defend or have defensive duties. Pienaar was doing a fantastic job on that side containing the Belgian and Valencia. Mirallas or Delefoe would not have been able to do so.

Can't agree more. He might appear to be a bit stationary but Pienaar sucks in one or two players when he has the ball, creating space and allowing others to run off into those empty areas.

Barkley is not being taken off because of how he is playing, it is a manager carefully managing a youngster who has played a lot of top level football in a short time frame.

As with all youngsters Barkleys form would probably novedive sometimes after Christmas if he plays every minute of every game.

He had been getting quite a lot of rest recently. Doubt 20mins more would've impacted his rest of the season much.

Pienaar was having a real negative impact towards our attack and that harms us more than what he was doing in defence. Can't see why kevin wouldn't have been able to do the same job, not like valencia was doing anything productive in the game either. The belgian kid if I'm not wrong breezed past pienaar as if he wasn't there at some point. We now play to control our destiny and imo martinez taking barkley was more a consequence of the first half he had(wasn't good at all) rather than what was happening in the 2nd(where he was our best player)
