Though your concern for the mental state of posters on this board is admirable, I think being a dick to them is probably not going to assuage their fears in the way you would like

Just a thought

how was i being a dick to you? I never said anything personal in anyway. Im confused as to your concern that he hasnt signed a contract 'yet' and asking why you feel that way.

Maybe im blinded atm...but i dont get it.

We slate the press for moving our players on and unsettling them and our own fans are as bad for panicking.

If we were told about the clubs stance regarding ross' contract last week...and he signs beginning of Jan...id say that was pretty rapid in terms of sorting a new contract out for the hottest young property in English football tbh

Like i said...its far too soon to be using words like yet. For me it is anyway

I can see why some people would be worried though

I'm not disagreeing with your opinion but I can completely understand why some people would be a bit tentative considering the young players in the past who have jumped ship

It's not being a dick is it tho, It's telling it like it is. He is right as well. If Martinez has said there going to offer him a new contract then we will have to see what happens In The coming months. If it gets to march/April then yes we can all panic.

We are talking about a lad who is 20 and had4 months of regular first team football. Besides which this isn't like football manager where you can sort out a new contract in about 2 minutes it can take weeks or months there is a lot to factor in before people sign on the dotted line. I think he'll sign so am not worried myself.

fair does mate...maybe ill eat my words...

but that was all under Moyes and we were treading water with his self impossed 6th place glass ceiling.

Martinez is a winner and you can see the squad thriving under it.

We were **** when Rooney left, the money we got for Lescott and Rodwell was complete robbery so we done ok out of it IMO.

Like i say, maybe ill look a dick when he signs for United in Jan...but ill be stunned completely if that happens.

...not for me, I think they might get a squeaky bum at £50m. Regardless, I'm not that sure Moyes would fully pursue the boy. He was clearly anxious about giving him a run when he was here, and he might get shown up if a move to United wasn't a success and more folk compare him to RM who is clearly getting the best out of the player.

I don't think it's the right move for United, nor do I think it's the right move for the player. He's definitley not the answer to their immediate problems (baines even less so) - but I think
Moyes has a vindictive streak that will lead to him trying to pull this off (and I have heard a few whisperings here in manchester). Won't happen though, not right now anyway but wouldn't be surprised come the summer

after the stick Moyes has got so far this season...his inablilty to sign players...Fellainis complete failure as a man u player...

does anyone really see them coming back in this jan and giving us another £30M?

Why? Hes played 16 games at the end of the day and weve got a massive deal lined up for him.

Hes never once suggested ever leaving.

Hes got his entire arm tattooed with the date of his everton debut. Seriously the kid loves us. No qualms whatsoever about him going anywhere for a good few seasons..if ever - depending on how we can kick on under Martinez

He must be knackered

I would not even blink at 30M, or 50 for that matter.

Prime example - jack rodwell, Lescott

We were offered £12m for a player (Rodwell) who showed merely flashes of promise in his Everton career. I still think that was tremendous business. We didn't need to sell, we were more than happy to oblige.

And well, as good as Lescott was, we took City to the cleaners with that transfer fee. Lescott is a bad example because he wasn't at the developmnent stage of his career.

Barkley is an Evertonian who is flourishing under his new manager, the team are competing for a Champions League place. He's about to be offered a new bumper contract with his boyhood club, who are competing with the very best... I still see no reason to suggest he'd leave.

... but Benny'll make you ageless
