Ross Barkley

Was very frustrated at his performance but I felt it was a good sub by Bobby as Osman was tiring. Some of his touches and passes we're shocking and I reckon it is just a confidence problem, he will be back to his normal self soon.

Ross needs to build up his mental strength I reckon, both on and off the pitch. On it, he needs to show he's clever enough to pick out the right passes which a lot of the time he doesn't, hence zero assists. Off it, he needs to not let his bad form affect him.

I think we're seeing that he should be in centre midfield rather than attacking midfield. Strikes me that he's being played further ahead due to our lack of options there this season.

I reckon its a mental thing atm. (Injury, contract, breakthrough season, England call up, World Cup, etc)

Sooner he gets the contract negotiations out the way and gets back to the togger the better.

His performances in the last month aren't really helping his agent right now.

He can book his summer hols now if he produces many more displays of that ilk. Agreed he's still young and coming back from injury but his game is based on confidence, mainly his own self confidence to beat a player and pick a pass (irrespective if it always comes off or not). Yesterday he failed to track back when losing possession, but more worryingly looked woefully inept, unable to pass to feet or weight a pass into the appropriate space.

That said, his form early season was something to behold ! Sure he will come good again.

Who would put him in the starting line up against West Ham ?
Me!!! Sign of faith!! Could backfire like but he is worth a bit more patience. Then if he plays poorly subbed just like any player should be. RM needs to lay off the "he has world at his feet" for a while. The lad is clearly showing signs of weight of expectation. I also think he is a wee bit too nice as a lad too. Mental toughness not there yet but it will come.

I wouldn't say those things are more worrying. We all know he's well able to do those things and im sure even Zidane hit plenty of hopeless passes in his time. It's his psyche and attitude (and his severe mental slowness at times!) that are most worrying and how any problems there translate themselves onto the pitch. Maybe after this season is over and done with and all the World Cup talk dies down we'll see what Ross is really capable of. This will allow him to mature properly into a world class player without the pressure of having to do so for the biggest footballing stage in the world.

You'll never forget it but can't remember who it was to?

He's a young lad playing his first full season in the top flight, he'll have off days, [Poor language removed] happens, we move on
Well it was in the middle of them both. I don't think anyone knows even himself. That pass was up there with Neville vs wigan

Think he just feels pressure to do something boss when he gets the ball.

He'll improve, he is boss.

We shouldn't be verbally getting on his back at games though. It won't help him.
