Ross Barkley

He's great physically and technically but, in the few times that I've seen him, what often lets him down is his decision making. He often gets into great counter attacking situations but seems to panic and make the wrong decision, but add that and this guy could be a real weapon if he isn't one already.

Best game I've seen him have. Had a good midfield running scared for the 90 minutes. More performances like that next season please lad.

Thing is he looked dreadful last week and totally world class against City.
Young players need time to learn the trade at the very top level. This season was a big learning curve for the whole team in trying to adapt to a new manager, but for Ross and John Stones they where given the opportunity to grow in 2 of the most important roles in the team. I hope we keep Romelu and offer these 2 young stars long contracts as we have the nucleus of a very talented, young side with Ross as the fulcrum.

Sadly i fear his performance today will be over shadowed by other stories from this game. Had this game been 2 or 3 weeks ago, the performance would be raved about. Its sad really.

Easily the best player on the field today and every time the lad picked the ball up, he looked positive and dangerous.

What if a club were to offer silly money which would enable you guys to go out and strengthen numerous areas?

I can't think of an example of a club selling a top prospect and being glad that they did afterwards.

Booked his ticket to Brasil today. He's been looking tired for a few weeks, but he blew that away infront of a hodgson. Best player on the pitch today. His power and pace running from deep was unstoppable, but, almost every final ball he played was the correct one. That through ball to Naismith that Hart saved was perfect.

This season has been a proper introduction to English football for Barkley, and from time to time he's looked off the pace. He'll be so much better next season for having played a proper season this year. I've said this before, but imagine where he's be in his development if Moyes had had the bottle to play him after his Blackburn error.

That aspect of his game seems to be improving though.

At one stage today he carried the ball fifty yards or more then delivered an exquisite ball to Naisy.
