well done for rm for starting him this week, would have been easy to leave him out after last week. Pure class today

Best player on the pitch today. Yes he's had poor performances recently but that was his 1st full season and even Bob said he's dead tired. Plus there isn't a player in the league who doesn't have a poor performance every now and then.

Our MOTM today. What was funny was before the game my brother was going on about how he doesn't rate him nearly as much as other fans do and wouldn't take him to the WC. At the very least, one critic was silenced today :p

I would be with your brother tbh, but he was excellent today, the goal gave him confidence, and he was comfortably MOM, his strength is amazing

He needed that i think. A couple of anonymous performances recently but good to see him in full flow again.

Was literally going to post this near enough word for word. Was a game he really needed to have. His form had dipped a bit lately but that will give him good confidence.

Shows what a bit of confidence can do. This is why people think his position could be further back, so he has the space to burst forward. I really think phase two of Martinez style football be shifting from pass masters, to counter attacking maestros. If we gain posession in our own half whilst being pegged back, how in hell would anyone stop the likes of Barkley, Miralles, McCarthy and Oviedo breaking forward at pace? The future is blue...

his youtube video from this season is going to look utterly mental for someone of his age.

england needs a player with that sort of confidence and willingness to take the game to the opposition. they'll go with players like gerrard, wilshere and henderson instead who aren't going to scare the opposition, especially not a team like italy.

I think he's nailed on for Brazil.

We'll have to manage his return very well to ensure he hits the ground running in August.

Making of a club legend here ladies and gentlemen.

Glad he had a great goal for the last home game, that truly was a beauty.

Seems to relish the big games although that might be because possession is more even and he can do a surging run from deep which is one of his best skills.

Still got lots to learn, especially against defensive teams and from a defensive point of view, but hope he continues his rapid progression next year.
