.....Naismith and Osman are established in one of the top leagues in the world and both full internationals. I'm sure there are blokes playing in the Champions League who are not that standard. They are not all like Ronaldo and Messi.

Naismith and Osman are absolutely better than some "group stage" CL players. Problem is we don't qualify in Scotland ... we have to play in the richest league in the world with 7 CL quality teams fighting for 4 spots.

That said I do think there is some truth to the idea that at some point (maybe next year) these guys should probably prove they are CL quality by making the CL (or winning something). There aren't that many holes in the team and depth is important but it's relative -- Arsenal started to fall apart because of injuries despite having their insane 100m+ wage bill of squad depth.

Afraid we are too late to get him. He has bought a season pass for La Tasca to get him to be eligible to play for Spain. Replace Xavi for when he retires.

I don't see it being a decision between him and Rooney. Sterling and Lallana should be on the bench. Ox, Barkley, and Rooney behind Sturridge with two of Gerrard/Lampard/Wilshere sitting.

Rooney disappointed me again after the first 10 mins - would have your line up but with ox, barkley & Lallana as the starters with Rooney & Sterling on the bench.
