All the money is obscene to me Andy, but you;re surmising there that what was offered was enough to pacify a player who maybe was getting offered less than the likes of newbies like Schneiderlin or even the likes of Mirallas.

We dont know the details. But what I do know is that one party has acted like an over grown schoolboy in public on the issue and the other has kept their counsel. I attach blame on that level.

This manager needs to learn to hold his own water, because his outbursts will get real tired real soon.

I 100% agree with you on the money being obscene, absolutely correct ;)

The very fact that player salaries are publicly known is wrong to me.
In many other walks of life and employment situations there are pay/salary differences depending upon circumstances, and rightly or wrongly, said differences are accepted.

I think it's wrong that salaries of these magnitudes are bandied around so openly.

I've never told anyone outside of my immediate family what I earn or have earned, it's nobody else's business but mine and the person paying me.

Salary packages being so openly discussed and blazoned all over the media is a breeding ground for jealousy and resentment.

I'll get down from my soap box on this now :)

As far as I'm aware he hasn't signed a new deal, and we'll be withdrawing the contract offer this evening.

On the bright side we have signed a performance analyst from Forest Green....

Victory for common sense over a manager looking to bring in a scorched earth policy.

eh?

Koeman has said loads of times he wants to keep him.

But if the player has dallied on signing a contract - for whatever reason - then you can't be left in limbo as a club.

This is interesting.

Barkley the 33rd most 'powerful' player in the prem. If you look at those above him, there's not a single player who you would entertain a bid of less than £30-40m for (other than them being dead old like Zlatan).

I do think Evertonians are guilty of over-expecting when it comes to Barkley. Again, looking at that list, the only player who is younger than him and who is above him is Dele Alli.
I wonder where someone like Gerrard or Lampard would have been on this list at Barkley's age?

Just saying - he's not the finished article yet...
