Thinking about it we could have done without spouting this in the press. We have to make an announcement TODAY as Ronnie has said and if we don't it will make us look small time in a way. If Ross is holding out for more money then I can see the club upping it today, I just can't see how they get out of this now. Ross certainly holds all the cards at the moment (if he wants to stay that is).

Stats mean nothing. And Ross plays further forward than Mikel did. And he made his debut 6 years ago, so would expect him to be close to Arteta.
Arteta was a way better footballer.

Arteta played right wing for most of his Everton career and was injured for 11 months. far better player than Ross will ever be. He actually knew how to pass which is a minimum requirement for a professional footballer, don't think Ross ever got that memo.
