West Ham lollol

West Ham just want it to look like they're doing something. Same as in January when they let it be known that they were begging bigger clubs to loan them players to keep them up.

Now that they have their free stadium, the porn barons are set. They aren't actually ambitious, they only have to pretend they are until someone buys the club off their hands. Hence all these nonsense "bids" for players like Barkley and Griezmann who would never sign there. As long as the supporters buy it, that's all that matters.

The thought of him playing for West Ham is silly, I think some are confused with another side that plays in claret, the one based in the city of Birmingham, he could do well there away from the pressure of top flight football

Honestly if we could get Martial to play alongside Lukaku, I would drive Barkley to West Ham using only the power of blowing bubbles from my starfish.

He is stuck in the "potential" bracket for me but he should've smash through that a year and a half ago.

At stage in our season, he should've been playing in our starting XI and the fact Koeman has said he will face competition even if he does sign, do you want last year's Barkley on £120k+ sat on the bench.

Nope! Sell and best of luck Ross

And Martial isn't just "potential"?

He's been lukewarm for United for two seasons now and mainly enjoys running into people.

Can't lay all this at an agents door tbh. He works for Ross, not the other way round.

Either:

Ross thinks he's better than Everton

He wants a crazy amount of money

He doesn't have the character to deal with the pressure of playing for Everton.

Whatever reason it is, he's burnt his bridges now and needs to be moved on.

I agree

Even if he stays it will be tainted.

Possibly the most disappointing end to an Everton career I can think of.

Promised the world, couldn't deliver milk.

Although he's not looked his best this year, he's been shunted out wide to (understandably) accommodate ibra, down the middle under lvg he looked much better, where as I think Barkley has been played in his best position constantly and still hasn't kicked on as he we all hoped he would

Is it possible that contracts are not now the issue with either Barkley and/or Lukaku ?

Is it possible that before they agree to sign anything they are waiting to see if the club actually delivers on it's promise to back the manager in the transfer market and bring in the quality of player required to challenge for a top four spot.

The total silence from the club and the reps. of both Barkley and Lukaku leads me to believe there is more to this story than we are being told.

Regarding Rooney.. I think this is Everton playing hardball to squeeze the best deal possible out of Utd.
Utd want Rooney out but are probably unwilling to pay him anything on the remainder of his contract, Everton are almost certainly not going to recompense him for the huge loss he will suffer because of the drop in his salary by joining Everton.
At the same time Utd cannot afford to keep him at a probable cost of 40m over the remainder of the two years of his contract. Rooney has ruled out joining any other club in England and if he won't go abroad then Utd have to arrange a deal with Everton or keep a hugely expensive player that doesn't fit into the managers plans... this one could drag on for a while.

I think it's more likely both parties are waiting to see if any suitors for the players make themselves known. City, I would imagine, are now out judging on the speed of which they're getting business done.
