Not really, the longer it goes on the worse it is for us, I can see him being here on deadline, not having signed a contract, we accept an offer for him, he goes, but we don't get a replacement in before the window slams shut. A bit like when Arteta left.

Other than that, what is the worst case for Barkley? He sees out his contract, goes on a free and and signs for someone else on about £250k a week.

There is a reason clubs don't let teams go into the last two years of their contract, it's to avoid this situation

No club will give him a contract at 250k a week even if they do get him on a free. If he gets it every player will want it. He wont get in any teams above us. An what if we have signed other players? He wont want to risk a season in the u23 team. If he waits until next summer he can forget the world cup and by that time he will be almost 25 and not played for england in over 2 years with a hand full of othet players fighing for his place. He will gp before pre season or he will sign a contract.

Agree on the first part, we gave him a deadline he didn't sign, now we should wash our hands on it, make sure a replacement is lined up and let clubs know he is available.Hopfully Koeman and Walsh moved on ages ago

West Ham lollol

West Ham just want it to look like they're doing something. Same as in January when they let it be known that they were begging bigger clubs to loan them players to keep them up.

Now that they have their free stadium, the porn barons are set. They aren't actually ambitious, they only have to pretend they are until someone buys the club off their hands. Hence all these nonsense "bids" for players like Barkley and Griezmann who would never sign there. As long as the supporters buy it, that's all that matters.
you could replace the words west ham with everton and it sounds like the moyes/kenwright era!
