....and the Daily Mail are reporting that Spurs interest in the player has cooled and they are no longer tracking him. It is a shame that more clubs aren't pursuing him to push his price up, there actually seems more interest in McCarthy than Barkley.

I honestly wouldn't play him. It would serve as a warning to anyone else tempted to run down their contract and ruin his chances of going to the World Cup. If we can freeze out Niasse for doing nothing wrong we can do this.

Plus it may actually force him to sign (with a release clause) or to find himself a new club in January.

Why on earth would you do that. If he's working his bollox off in training and doing well in games, why tick somebody in the reserves just to be spiteful. Especially somebody who can be a match winner like Ross. I'd say he's more likely to sign a new contract by being part of the new Everton than by being relegated to the under 23s.

I got called down for mentioning Ross in the same post as Alan Ball yesterday. I can say the same to you for comparing him to Niasse.
