From the Mirror:
Ross Barkley wants £150,000 a week to join Tottenham and Everton are demanding £50m for him, the Daily Mirror say.

The newspaper say Spurs value Barkley at more like £15m and that agreeing to his wage demands would make him the highest-paid player at the club.
Large difference in valuation

Mirror don't know what day of the week it is

Last story Spurs interest had cooled.

Ross Barkley has NOT demanded to become Tottenham Hotspur's highest paid player.

The ECHO understands that reports of the Everton midfielder asking for £150,000-a-week are wide of the mark.

Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris are Spurs' biggest earners on £120,000- a- week but suggestions that Barkley wants more money than the pair are believed to be wrong.

The 23-year-old is currently nursing a small groin injury which kept him out of the Blues' trip to Tanzania last week and means he did not travel with the squad to Holland.

Spurs remain keen on Barkley but Everton's valuation of the player means that any deal remains far from being complete.

Mauricio Pochettino is a fan of the 23-year-old but Spurs have been told they will have to pay at least £30m for the Academy product, who is now in the final 12 months of his contract at Goodison.

Either the player or the club are desperate for him to leave if they're running straight to the Echo to send a message to Spurs he'll accept less than is being reported to make the move. Either way it doesn't bode well for him staying.

For Ross Barkley read

Franny Jeffers
Jack Rodwell
Steven Pienaar
Joloen Lescott
Andre Kanchelskis ( spelling)
John Stones ( to a point)

all thought the grass was greener and trophies were handed out automatically and life would be happy ever after.

WAKE UP ROSS AND SMELL THE COFFEE !!!!!!!!!

Didn't Kanchelskis allegedly leave due to large gambling debts catching up with him?
Plus he won 5 trophies with Rangers - so I'd imagine he'd say it wasn't exactly a failure after he left.

Lescott won two league titles with City and probably doubled his money. So I doubt he'll have any regrets either tbf.
