Ross Barkley

Either the player or the club are desperate for him to leave if they're running straight to the Echo to send a message to Spurs he'll accept less than is being reported to make the move. Either way it doesn't bode well for him staying.
Interesting point that about the lower fee, can see why Everton said 50 at the start of the window even though it was totally unrealistic, my guess is Everton would be happy to sell at the end of the window so as to not strengthen another side (well the bench haha ) so early in the window

Sorry if already posted
From the Mirror:
Ross Barkley wants £150,000 a week to join Tottenham and Everton are demanding £50m for him, the Daily Mirror say.

The newspaper say Spurs value Barkley at more like £15m and that agreeing to his wage demands would make him the highest-paid player at the club.
Large difference in valuation
50m for airhead Barkley. That would be funny!

The only thing I'm annoyed about is the fact that he's nowhere near as good as half the players we have yet they keep their heads down and get on with the task at hand. Things suddenly become hard and he want's out, subsequently going to a better club in the process. How is it fair that he wins from this scenario??

I have only briefly followed this thread since Sunday. Did Ross, Wayne and Ron have Sunday lunch together? How did it go? Did Wayne put on a fancy feast? Or was this a wind up that I got suckered into?

I like to think that they did and had a cracking dinner and that Ross now feels back in the fold afterwards.

Mind you this £150k a week demand for spurs would suggest otherwise.

He wont win if he's sitting on the bench most weeks.

the spurs ITK is probably the spurs version of the Esk, has absolutely no clue about transfers

he will not sign for 90k a week at spurs I suspect he's been offered more than that here, and if he has good riddance

If we sign him 90k seems absolutely correct. Probably with heavy bonuses like the rest of the squad.. No way levy breaks the wage structure or Barkley even earns parity with Kane or Lloris who are on around 100 to 120

He won't win when he's starting the 2018/19 season on loan at newly promoted Fulham.

Of all the top clubs, he probably has the best shot of not being eternal bench fodder at Spurs - but I still fear that's where he's going to end up.

I know we don't know the full story, but all this does feed into the narrative of him not being able to take criticism and knuckle down. There's just no way he's going to force himself into the Spurs starting 11.
