Ross Barkley

The fact his people have even came out and said he's not demanding to be Spurs highest player pretty much confirms he's gone.

Have we ever had a Judas like this before at Everton football Club? A homegrown talent that has let his contract run down - rejecting a new one so he can engineer a move and screw his boyhood club out of tens of millions?

Barkley has probably had 2/3 contracts over his whole Everton career and has honoured every one of them. He would probably see his current one out too.

How is he a Judas.

He could sign a 5 year tomorrow and Koeman may sell him after 1.

Yet somehow this is more acceptable.

Why sign a contract for a manager who doesn't want you and then you could be stuck on a bench unable to leave.

When you think the club stood by him when he suffered that horror double leg break as a youth player for England.
Always tried to make him feel like an integral part of the team even when he has been out of form.

So he runs his contract down to 12 months left and then says nothing. He has never spoken highly in public of what an exciting future this club has. The potential to be moving into a waterfront stadium and exciting young players coming through and being purchased.

He could lead the team out at the Docks but appears to prefer to go to Spurs?!? A team that in my time of watching football have won a couple of FA Cups at best. In that same period I have seen us win Leagues and a European trophy.

If that is his desire then good riddance, and he could never claim to have any affection for this club.

Careful what you wish for Ross!

For me viewing it through his eyes, it's all about the World Cup. He hasn't gotten a sniff for England in over a year. He has to be desperate to find a way back in.

...I wonder if it's because he loved being the centre of the Everton world under Martinez, told how phenomenal he was and given no reposibility when the opposition had the football. Koeman demands more from all of his players. RK appears to have invested a lot in trying to improve Barkley's all around game but has spoken as much about his weakness as his strengths.

Koeman does want him to stay.

He just isn't going to promise anybody a starting role.

There's a difference.

And if Ross isn't willing to commit - which he isn't - then I don't care. I'm gutted, but get rid, get the money in. We asked for an answer and didn't get one.

I think I hate him?

Get the kopite out the club right now

If he leaves Everton for Spurs he is no longer a blue.

Never thought I'd despise an Everton player as much as Phil fn Neville but, if he goes, think Barkley would take his place.

Bloody hell lads get a grip of yourselfs will you. You're grown adults.

It's just another footballer moving clubs. It's not the end of the world, no need to get so worked up.

He is doing what he thinks is best for his career, good for him. You can't be upset at the lad for that. The club is doing whats best for the clubs progression.

For the way koeman plays he has to shoehorn barkley into the squad. Creating a possition for him that doesn't fit into his style of play in order to play to his strengths and get the best out of him. Same with lukaku to a extent, we had to abandoned our pressing game to suit lukakus ability to score goals because lukaku couldn't press a doorbell.

Spurs on the other hand already have that position in their style of play. Also there will be people moving infront of him alot more and defences wont be able to double up on him as much. With the likes of kane and ali/Ericsson running about.

he wont be a starter for them but he will get games for them i would imagine he would start at least 30 games for them and make a good few substitute appearances. So he will get game time there.

Also poch is a good manager that I think could get the best out of him. He'll be like martinez was with him exsept a actually good manager.

I can't blame the lad for wanting to leave the club and further his career (in his head), whether he does or not will have to wait to be seen.

Tbh I'm just numb to it now. He's going so i stopped carring as soon as I realised it. Just want the club to get the best deal for him now, thats all I'm intrested in.

Could be some of that too. I just look at the WC as one of those things that a footballer of his caliber would be one of those career boxes to check off. If he doesn't make this one he'll be 28 for the next and 32 for the following one. He's got to make it this one or next.

I could be completely wrong but not being in the England squad in over a year certainly doesn't bode well for him.

It has to be surely! Poch has his players running yards too, that's for sure

Can go now for me.

Same situation as Lukaku. Loved them and respected them continuously throughout, but as it's went on, it's very clear that he doesn't want to sign a new contract.

I'm more baffled at people's comments saying.. "Can you blame him, Koeman doesn't want him", and similar. I mean seriously? It's clear that Koeman demands a certain level of effort, and unfortunately, Barkley seems like he's the only one stuck in Martinez mode.

Struggles to get back, loses the ball and lacsidasically jogs back. He has flashes of brilliance, and still has potential to be boss, but he does not want to be here.

I don't think it's anything to do with wages, more he can't take the Koeman criticism.
