Superb. When was the last time we saw a goal like that at Goodison? Confidently picking up the ball and driving towards the goal and burying it.

At home he treats the ball like a hot potato and often play the simple sideways ball.

Maybe there is actually some weight behind the theory that the boo boy bells getting on his back at home as soon as something doesn't come off affects his confidence and deters him from trying things?

At home it's definitely to do with the boo boys getting on his back if he spends more than a second on the ball. Also, it's true that teams close him down more.

Shown more captain material than our current bloke. We have no leaders in the team. Give him the armband and let him grow into the role.
Of course this won't happen because this Manager has shown a lack of Umbros generally.

FFS, he worried City everytime he got the ball and was largely at the centre of all of our moves. It's difficult when your playing a team that is dominating possession.
Has been poor the last few games I thought, doesn't dominate games like he should, for a player of his repute. .. He is well overated, he is a good player, but not half as good as he is made out to be, his work rate when we don't have the ball like most of our team leaves a lot to be desired, decision making is poor the majority of the time as well... has all the raw ingredients to be a top player, but a long way off it at the moment I think

I agree with that bit but the rest is very harsh.

8 goals and 7 assists this year, he makes more successful passes and more dribbles than almost any player in his position.

This "poor decision marking" thing seems wrong to me as well. If you have Player 1 who only gets in a decent position once a game but always makes the right decision, is he better than Player 2 who gets in the right position 5 times a game but only plays the right pass twice?

For someone who picks the wrong option and gives the ball away a lot he is remarkably highly ranked in the stats of who has created the most chances and plays the most accurate passes.

The lad turned up for a big occasion shame a few others did,nt but he still lacks consistency for me on a game to game basis.

I have see him do more in an England shirt , sadly this season.

you have the raw ingredients to be a tranmere rovers fan, as the level of football you currently watch is obviously too much for you
