I'll be honest, he frustrated me at times tonight. He's arguably the player in the team who gets the most time on the ball yet he spends most of it trying to think about what to do next with it and completely slows everything down. Undoubtedly has superb technical ability, he just needs a sharper brain imo.

Boss pennos though like!

He keeping hold of possession not slowing the game down.

Brilliant player already but can be even better.

2 areas in which he could improve for me:

- closing down: I don't want him to waste too much energy doing needless pressing but he needs to be a bit more aggressive when he closing down players when he has the opportunity to win the ball. Turnover the ball in the oppo's half is the easiest way to create chances.

- play around the box. This has improved a lot but he could be a bit more decisive with his final pass. I think he also takes too long to shoot i.e he tries to absolutely burst the net which gives defenders more chance to block and means the keeper can set himself. He doesn't need to wind up and blast it from 20 yards, he's be better off shooting with a shorter back lift. A lot of his shots get blocked.

He does seem to have an awful lot of shots blocked/deflected...

I agree with this, even Suarez used to press, but we don't want him turning into a Henderson who best feature is pressing

Yep, he just needs to do it when he has an opportunity to win the ball, not all the time like a headless chicken. Like Suarez, he is really strong and can bully players if they take too long on the ball. Players just seem to bounce off him.

......I criticised him lots last season but he's really come on to be a truly key part of the team. I know there are comments regarding what he did and didn't do with the football but it was his length of the field run with pacy Andros Townsend and dispossession of him that was a stand out for me. Keep it going young man.

Just for one second imagine us attaching without Ross Barkley in the team.

It's horrible.
I would put Deulofeu in there and he would be equally as exciting. Ultimately I think that is where he will play.

When RM said last summer there was a young player at the club who could play no. 10 but was a couple of years away from being ready, was Del at the club at that stage does anyone know?

To all his critics, just imagine if he didn't play for us and we were linked with buying him. Too far fetched I know as there's no way we could afford or compete for his signature.
So please let's just enjoy
