Ross Barkley

Was a bit average for me, don't think he's played his best stuff over the past month.

Tough for him tonight because I felt the onus really was on him to play defence splitting passes, no one else seemed to have that creativity in their locker from our midfield tonight.

eh???

He was ace against Stoke.

Carried us against Bournemouth

Decent against Newcastle... notwithstanding scoring twice

Everyone was plop vs West Brom.

Just before that he was given a standing ovation by all sides of the ground vs Carlisle and was probably our best player (and scored an ace goal) in defeat to City.

Wasn't great tonight but let's not talk tosh here lads.

I was looking more towards the last 3 games tbh, didn't think he was too clever against Bournemouth either.

Didn't say he'd been poor but definitely seen him in better form throughout the season.

We've won 5 out of 7 in a god awful season and he has performed well in at least 5 of the games.

Not massively sure what is going on here.

Each to their own. I just think he's played better at other points in the season, no big deal.

Some people will just never appreciate Ross Barkley

Tonka let me tell you a story then -
A manager goes to the transfer market and he says that he has 3 world class match winners for sale for 150mil- a bargain
A manager from the Champions League comes to him and says -"that is exactly what i am looking for.Tell me how many games have they won for your team this season?"
Only 8 says the seller but they have a lot of potential. they have won the same number as WBA , but 1 more than Bournemouth and only 1 less than Crystal Palace.
Oh says the buyer manager," but which team did they beat in their last game?and how many goals did they score?
No, they lost 1-0 to WBA at home says the seller.
OOH i see says the buyer - no thank you, i would not even take match winners like that at half that price in my club.

It was this quote that probably outed the non-appreciative bunch as clinically mental, Cleverley-instead-of-Mirallas biffs

Is Barkley undroppable? His previous link up play and through balls are missing. He probably hits passes backwards and sidewards 90% of the time. Apart from the chest down half volley and the surging run in the final minutes, I'm not sure if anyone else can do his job, and adding a little more defensive edge to the game.

The second goal from West ham came from a half hearted defence move from him.

I am still hoping he will be our trump card but the past few matches he had been more of a passenger imo

Set up the second v Villa, should have had an assist if Lukaku converted late. He got tired towards the end, but was good in a side a man down before then.

Yes, he is undroppable. Completely and utterly.

One of the 1st names on the team sheet for me.
But he didn't have his best game.

When you go down to 10men against a good side your playmaker is always the one to suffer. How many times do you see a manager sacrifice that type of player after a sending off.

He did play a great ball through to Rom after a great bit of skill when he went past 2 players. But Rom 1st touch was poor and took it wide. Rom had a great game, but seems reluctant to use his right foot
