Again though, it really comes down to the manager. What's Martinez doing to develop Barkley's game? Absolutely nothing.
When it comes to tactical discipline and being part of a unit, Barkley has no incline what's going on because Martinez doesn't expect that from him. He treats our players as though we're Barcelona and defending isn't important.

When he went off he looked a bit gutted and p*ssed off, and i felt a bit sorry for him. Then i remembered that thousands of us would absolutely love to be in his position with his talent, playing for that shirt. We would have ran a lot harder and gave absolutely everything tonight, demanded the ball at every opportunity and at least tried to galvanize us, he did none of it tonight.
I dont want to sound like a desperate t*t and start saying he needs to be our gerrard etc and win us derbies on his own, but if hes not running his arse off putting tackles in at 20 or 21 or whatever he is, then when will he? Needed a lot more from him tonight and he needs to turn up on saturday, not good enough.

Yeah its alright blaming martinez for every single thing mate and dont get me wrong i want him out as much as the next man but there comes a time when players need to accept responsibility. He should've done a hell of a lot more tonight and we can't just start letting players get away with half arsed performances just because we want Martinez out.

I agree there comes a point that the likes of Barkley need to take it upon themselves to sort it out. I don't think he's been in form for a long time now, the odd moment here and there together with how he played earlier in the year has masked that.
Tbh, he should have been hooked from the starting XI a long time ago.

It really is heyday for our bellend fans who hate talent, lukaku, stones and ross all coping it from the clueless beauts, all 3 will be stars, part of me hopes they do it at a different club, because the dinosaurs who follow us, and defend utter crus like hibbert and osman and even naismith, while just waiting for an opportunity to shoot down real talent so they an be part of the 'told you so' club, absolute helmets to a man, and a real part of the reason english football is utterly grim
