Ross Barkley

said it for ages needs to do the basics better , hard work put a tackle in , learn to head a ball looks like a 5 yr old girl when the ball is near him in the air scared of it, unfortunate that the current manager doesn't put any value on any of that so he carries on as normal.
new manager, new attitude and added to the good things he can do, he might become the player we all hope he could become, could say the same about Stones as well to be honest.

Definitely isn't a 'number 10', doesn't create much at all. He's been out of form for a little while, think the team needs him ticking and vice versa.

Hopefully a new manager will teach him how to play togger.

Hasnt he got something like 8 goals and 7 assists?
So he's created 15 goals this season.
And he isnt creative mate?

MATE?!

Was waiting for this! Hear me out... Barkley picks up assists but compare them to Deulofeus assists to Lukaku.

Delboy, middle of the park and bang a through ball to Lukaku who is 1 v 1 and goal. Remember a couple of these this year.

Barkley just can't make through balls like that. This is what we need from a number 10, an actual creative player who plays with his head up not down. (Not saying Del is number 10 either...)

Here is a crazy thought about ross.

May be the reason why he isnt as good as zidane or anyone yet is because he is recieving no coaching whatsoever to help develop him? Maybe, just maybe, he is being given that role to do and then told to do what comes naturally to him, so he is still playing like a 18 year old wanting to run down the pitch and score, where he should be getting coached in how to improve the all around areas of that game.

Maybe , just maybe, a better coach behind him who is looking to develop him and we would get the player that he will become?

he's been garbage for a while but he is also surrounded by cr4p. A better coach would bring out the best in him. He looks as lost as the rest of the squad

I actually will be surprised if he makes the Euro squad. People here laugh at Milner and then make out that Ross's 7 assists whist playing in number 10 role is amazing. Milner has double.

Disagree with this. He's been threading through balls all season

Dels have mostly come from crosses.

He's out of form. He's not dictating games in the final third.

Again. Ive seen Barkley dicate more games this season than Milner has his whole career.

Its not all about assists it's about a control and influence on a game.

The look on his face when he went off yesterday was heart breaking.

He cares. Yes he can do frustrating things but he is a blue and this is affecting him, let's get right behind the lad.

Agree, his face when looking at our fans was ashen and I really, really felt for him.

Have said many times on this forum that Ross has the tools but without the proper coaching and mental mentoring, he'll be a good player... with the right coaching and mental mentoring, then he could become an outstanding player.

And I still say that Colin Harvey should be asked to/be offered the role of being mentor to Ross.

Colin was a home grown product who was blooded young and took a fair amount of criticism, but he had the fortitude and mental resolve to overcome it and grow into one of our very, very best - and I'm convinced he could help Ross overcome some of the mental blockages that adversely affect his game.

The ability to control and dictate a game is something that I've very very rarely seen from him tbh.
