Moyes has his favourite he'd never drop, Martinez had a hard on for Cleverley and Kone and anything from Wigan, and Hodgson fancies Henderson, Lallana, Alli and Wilshire.

Hes not going to play him when we are in a situation where we can't afford to concede, only time i can see him coming on is late in a game where we need to counter or where we are smashing another team.

In truth i don't expect to see him get any game time this tournament.

Alli, Wilshere, Rooney are better players. Sterling and Lallana are playing in positioins that Ross shouldn't be and Henderson provides work rate and closing down, something of which Ross doesn't.

Not surprisingly in the slightest really.

I'd agree with pretty much all of that bar the Wilshere part. Ross has the potential to be an outstanding talent but he's certainly not there yet.

Without the blue-tinted glasses, he hasn't been in sparkling form within the last few months and his work-rate (especially defensively) is suspect.

Anyway less matches for Ross throughout the tournament will mean he is hopefully fitter come the start of the season; no injuries either.

Also looking for the 'silver lining', maybe the disappointment of not being chosen to either start or come on may help to inspire him to improve.

Thought the same myself, in fact probably one of the worst England midfield performances I have ever seen. Not one commentator, commented on it. Feel a bit sorry for Barkley, obviously Hodgson never had any intention of playing him in this tournament, can't understand why he took him.

I think Hodsgon just hates Everton players in general because he managed the lot on the other side. There can't be any rational explanation other than that as to why Stones and especially Ross haven't gotten a minute of playing time. Specifically Ross Barkley in a game where we need something out of nothing and someone to break defences down. Unbelievable. Even my dog would've taken Henderson and Wilshere off sooner.
