Ross Barkley

I'd agree with pretty much all of that bar the Wilshere part. Ross has the potential to be an outstanding talent but he's certainly not there yet.

Without the blue-tinted glasses, he hasn't been in sparkling form within the last few months and his work-rate (especially defensively) is suspect.

Anyway less matches for Ross throughout the tournament will mean he is hopefully fitter come the start of the season; no injuries either.

Also looking for the 'silver lining', maybe the disappointment of not being chosen to either start or come on may help to inspire him to improve.

See I rate Wilshere highly as an intelligent footballer, the fat he is made of weak glass though means he is always injured and can't get to full ability as that, IMO, can only come when a player is playing regularly for months.

Even a half fit Barkley should be on the pitch every single time before Milner or Henderson. Two hardworking yard dogs with no flair or finesse.

Every single time England insist on playing these kind of players.

Players who lose possession attempting to create I can live with, those who lose it merely taking the easy option....they will never ever take a team forward. But whatever I think is irrelevant the team is picked by the press based on flavours of the month and the London clique.

Even if he does it will be very diffuclt as his confidence will be badly shot after being so conspicuously last choice.

He should be fired up and angry with a point to prove. If Ross depends on confidence then he will never make it as far as he should. He needs to toughen up mentally and have a 'up yours' attitude. He really has more talent than any of them England players and he should know it and believe it and look down his nose at them. Hopefully Koeman can give him an attitude.
